What is laphing?

Laphing is a popular street food made from steamed wheat starch noodles or sheets, typically served with spicy sauces and chilli oil. It originated in Tibet and is now beloved across Nepal, particularly in Kathmandu. It has a unique chewy texture unlike anything else and is best enjoyed fresh and hot.

What is pakoda?

Pakoda (also known as pakora) are crispy deep-fried fritters popular across South Asia. They are made by coating vegetables or other ingredients in a spiced batter and frying until golden and crispy. They are a favourite snack with tea on rainy days.

Are your products gluten free?

Currently our dry mix products (Pakoda Mix, Laphing Dough Mix and Laphing Batter Mix) contain wheat and gluten and are not suitable for people with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance. Our Chilli Oil does not contain wheat but may contain traces due to shared production. We are working on gluten-free options for the future.

Are your products vegan?

All four of our current products are suitable for vegans. They contain no animal-derived ingredients. However please check allergen advice as products may contain traces of milk and eggs.

Where are your products made?

All Hamro Sajilo Foods products are proudly made in Australia from quality ingredients. Each product label shows the exact percentage of Australian ingredients used.

How long do products last?

Please refer to the expiry date printed on each product. Store all products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, seal tightly and use within the recommended time on the packaging.

How do I use the Laphing Dough Mix and Batter Mix together?

For the authentic laphing experience, you need both mixes. The Dough Mix creates the chewy noodle balls and the Batter Mix creates the silky steamed sheets that wrap around them. Both are easy to make separately and are combined to serve. We recommend watching our recipe videos on Instagram and TikTok for a step-by-step guide.

Do you ship Australia-wide?

Yes! We ship to all states and territories across Australia. Flat rate shipping of $10.99 applies to all orders. Free shipping on orders over $80.
